Trace the ant trail before treating it
Ants seen indoors are often workers travelling between a nest and a food or moisture source. Following the direction of a trail and noting what attracts it can be more useful than removing the visible ants, particularly when activity returns after household spray is used.
Where signs may appear

Photograph the ants and trail, note the entry point and remove accessible food residues without disrupting the route more than necessary. Avoid applying multiple sprays or powders before advice, as repellents can scatter activity and make the source harder to trace.

Keep sweet and protein-rich foods sealed, clean spills promptly, manage waste and repair suitable access gaps after the active route is understood. Outdoor nesting conditions and vegetation touching the property may also be relevant to repeated seasonal activity.
